Elegant Surrey Home, Cobham
We worked closely with our client to create an elegant, warm, and comfortable study. The oiled oak bookcases contrast beautifully with the crisp elegance of the dark blue desks. An earthy autumnal colour palette was chosen to bring warmth, with the rust-coloured rug acting as a centrepiece to unify the scheme. A photograph by our client’s favourite artist, Joseph Holmes, takes centre stage above the main desk, its colours echoed throughout the room to create rhythm and balance.
Having spent significant time living and working in North America, our client wanted to evoke memories of that period through various pieces of art. The lion statues at the foot of the fireplace are replicas of the lions outside his beloved Art Institute of Chicago. Additionally, the room features several North American prints from our client's collection, breathing life and soul into the space.
“By blending elegance with deeply personal touches, this project highlights the power of bringing cherished memories to life. Bringing details that reflected our client’s time in North America added depth and character to the space. Working with such a charming client was an absolute pleasure - it allowed us to create a study that is warm and welcoming.”
