As we step into 2025

As we step into 2025, it's the perfect time to reflect on the principles that guide my work as an interior designer. This year, I’m focusing on strengthening the philosophies that have consistently shaped my approach to design and continue to inspire me every day. Each project is an opportunity to evolve, to push boundaries, and to create spaces that are not only beautiful but meaningful. These resolutions reflect my commitment to growth, collaboration, and sustainability, while ensuring that every design remains a true reflection of my clients' lives and aspirations. Here’s to another year of creativity, connection, and thoughtful design.

  1. Commit to Continuous Learning – The world of design is ever-evolving, and it's essential to stay curious and open to new ideas, techniques, and technologies. Whether it's attending workshops, exploring new materials, or learning about new suppliers, the goal is to always be growing and improving as a designer.

  2. Foster Meaningful Collaborations – Design is never a solitary pursuit. Working alongside other professionals—whether architects, artisans, or fellow designers—enriches the process and results. By embracing collaboration, we can bring diverse perspectives and skills to the table, ensuring that the final outcome is both cohesive and innovative.

  3. Deepen Client Understanding – A successful design begins with a comprehensive understanding of the client’s needs, aspirations, and lifestyle. Listening intently during the briefing stage and continually engaging with clients ensures that every project is a true reflection of their vision, while also pushing their boundaries in ways they hadn’t imagined.

  4. Embed Sustainability at the Core – Sustainability should never be an afterthought. It's vital to integrate sustainable choices into every aspect of design, from sourcing materials to choosing energy-efficient solutions. Prioritising sustainability is not just about doing what's right for the planet, but also creating spaces that endure and evolve with time.

  5. Challenge Creative Boundaries – The best designs often come from moments of unexpected inspiration. Pushing beyond the conventional, introducing surprising elements, and offering fresh ideas can lead to spaces that feel truly unique. It’s about delivering something the client may not have thought possible but will immediately fall in love with.
